No they can't, which is why you can't just go off and play hero all the time!
[It was her scolding 'I'm disappointed in you' voice she had all but perfected over the years. She was worried for him and nothing would change that now. Noticing his discomfort she slid an arm around waist and slowly helped to sit him up better. Gently peeling the jacket down his arms and off his shoulders. Bullet hole, looked like it had been a nasty one as well, even through the healing.
Angela gives him a look.]
Just because you were fine doesn't make it any better.
[The fact that she couldn't stop him was one he was well aware of, but she was still going to scold him.]
[ Even with his discomfort and exhaustion, he managed to fix her with a look. He'd been her commanding officer once upon a time. She was also a great deal younger than he was. She didn't need to be mothering him so hard. He was a big boy. He could take care of himself. ]
Kind hard to account for old wounds suddenly coming back. That one's from a month and a half ago...
[ Referring to the one in his shoulder as she slid his jacket off of it. He cut short, teeth grit together. But it wasn't as strong of a reaction as before. It was fading. Slowly. Several of the wounds were from the day he arrived, actually. It had been...quite a day. ]
[She will mother you until the world ends. He was a big boy yes, but clearly, he couldn't really take care of himself. Or she wouldn't be here, would she?]

[ And the last seven years counts for what? He was totally taking care of himself. Except for when Ana was involved. But that's recent. He's an independent hermit man damn it! ]
It wouldn't have been so bad, but I was trying to avoid killing them.
[ He was sure she'd seen the news reports. Ranging from the vague accounts to those who'd identified the number on his jacket. Almost always leaving thugs and criminals alive but unconscious to be found by authorities. ]
[Oh god, another name you shouldn't tell her about. The last seven years he wasn't in a world with crazy people with all kinds of powers. And the nanites.]
So you're saying it would have been better if you just killed them?
[A look. She is giving it.
She'd seen the reports and she didn't know how to feel. Surprised? But then, not really at the same time.]
Look, I'm glad you didn't kill anyone. Just, be more careful, okay?
