[ She knows it was stupid to be this stubborn. Refusing her appointments just because Bruce had . . . changed was childish and stupid. She was stupid. It's not like he was even doing anything, so why did even being in the same room with him make her want to cry and go back to her "lay on the ground alone in the dark until i die" plan. He did make her feel that way so she in turn started skipping her appointments.
Missing one dose of her boosters and blood checks wasn't the end of the world. But particularly with less than four months left on her clock, missing much more than that very well might be. So for once Bruce relented first, and here is Angela, all alone with a one awkward death goddess.
She knocks but also ducks her head in, just a little. ]
[Angela had set everything out for the appointment, she hadn't been sure if Persephone was even going to show up, but she hoped she would. She could understand on some level her reservations especially around Bruce with everything that had happened. But this was important.
The knock on the door has her looking up from her project notes and looking over her shoulder. She smiles when she hears and sees Persephone, pushing back from her desk she stood up.]
Hey, I'm glad you made it. Come on in.
How are you?
[She pulls up another chair for her to sit done if she wanted. There was a clear desk against another wall if she really wanted to sit there instead.]
[ There's visible relief when she sees Bruce isn't there, though some part of her still expects him to be hiding in an airvent, or watching remotely. But of course he's not, and isn't that the problem?
She gives a shrug and heads over to her normal place. ]
How's literally everyone?
[ u know. on account of all the death and time loops ]
[Barely holding it together mentally and physically. Angela always found that she threw herself into work so much harder after shit hit the fan in life. Her favourite thing had been to wake up and actually know that she was going to die.]
Good point. But I'm asking about you not everyone else.
[ the tone isn't sarcastic, exactly. if anything it's almost said as a challenge. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." A moment later she waves a hand. ]
[Okay this wasn't a game she was going to play. She got the message anyway, though there was a little disappointment that there wasn't a straight forward answer. Not that she honestly expected one from the girl.
Angela looks taken aback by the news and takes a second or two to wrap her head around it.]
Six? Okay. [She didn't know how many there were in total, she honestly thought that there wouldn't be so many, like six was all there was.]
I didn't realise so many had shown up. [Were they friends? Were they at the same place as Persephone or were some further along like Inanna had been before?]
[Hey, she's dealt with a lot worse from adults back home. Angela wasn't even the kind to unload to her closest friends here 'I'm fine' was like a universal blanket term for imPorts that meant 'shit is fucked up but let's avoid emotions, k'. It would have been her response.
Angela has her notes and scribbles the rest of the names down. She nods and offers a smile of thanks.]
Okay. [It was a relief to know that things weren't going to go tits up for the foreseeable future and there was still time]
Have you told any of them about what you're doing?
ACTION, late March

There's more of us now. Six total.
Sorry for bogus tag and the wait

No worries. '3'
Uh huh. Inanna, Lucifer, Woden, you knew. Now there's Cassadra-slash-Urdr, Dionysus, and Baphomet.
[ If she can't answer "are you OK" like a normal fucking person, at least she can be forthcoming with basic facts, right? ]
Mostly from further along back home, but since I've been here so long . . .

I don't think they really believe it but whatever.
[ She's not sure she believes it. ]

[While she has to believe that something will come of this because she doesn't want Persephone to go through the alternative.]
I hope that we can prove them wrong and help them as well.

It was really "we handle our own." Isolated, you know?

I get it. Sometimes...sometimes it's as though that's the only way.
I know it's in no way the same, but for a while back home, that's what it felt like we had to do. Like it was easier.

[ Not that Laura would ever willingly listen to an adults advice, but she might listen to the story. ]
