I'm not. [ she laughs, not unkindly, ] I barely passed Bio in high school, and I know that as much as I love helping people, I'm never going to be a scientist.
Which is why I was wondering if you'd like to take more of a leadership role? Like, say... co-owning the clinic with me?
[She was about to say that you didn't have to be a scientist, that she could help Iris learn some things when she continues and is talking about leadership?]
Me? [She's smiling though, and honestly, she's kind of touched.] Yes. Of course!
[ Oh thank goodness!! Iris clasps her hands together from sheer relief. ]
Yes, you!! [ she laughs, ] I'm so glad to hear that. The rest of the staff adores you, and if you're not too busy - I think it would be really fun working with you in that capacity.
